Q. How long will this service/treatment/repair/cleaning last?
A. Since the damage is caused primarily from UV rays the repair will generally last as long as the original lens from the factory lasted. 2-4 years or longer. Since you actually remove the damaged area you now have a fresh like new surface for your lens cover.
Note: The only way of the prolonging the wear of the lens is to have a quality Urethane Clear Coat WITH UV protection built in, sprayed on your lens.
Q. How many headlights can I repair with this kit?
A. Our kit is designed to restore at least one pair of lenses. (2 headlight lenses.) Some people have done as many as 4 headlights with our single kit. However, it is more than enough for 1 pair.
Q. I thought the damage was on the inside of the lens? How do I fix that if I do not have to remove them from my vehicle?
A. Of the hundreds of headlight lenses I have personally repaired the damage has never been on the inside of the lens unless there was condensation trapped in the lens! Unless your lens is full of condensation our kit will repair it!
Q. My lenses are full of condensation; will your kit fix this?
A. No! Since the lenses are supposed to be air tight condensation should NOT build up inside the lens. In fact it is because the lens is airtight that the condensation does not clear up. Whatever the cause of the moisture that made it into your lens, the lens is not allowing it back out.
A good way to fix this problem is find a tire shop that has a Nitrogen Tire Inflation System, and have them fill your lens with nitrogen. Simply remove the bulb and shoot nitrogen into the lens. Since nitrogen doesn’t carry moisture it will actually force the moisture out.
Q. I read somewhere that people have used a plastic polish or cleaner and it cleared their headlights right up. Why should I buy your kit instead?
A. First of all when these lenses need to be fixed almost any improvement is a big improvement over what they already look like. But do they look like new?
If they make the claim that they do look new, what are they using as a reference to what looks like new to them?
Next thing to consider is this. How long does it last? Car dealers will sometimes wax their cars to hide clear coat scratches which come back almost immediately. Wax only "Hides" the scratches it DOES NOT repair them! I have found in almost everything I do there is only ONE right way to repair most damage. That doesn't mean there are not many other ways try to repair damage.
Cleaners: The problem with cleaners is this. The damage is in the lens or plastic itself. It is not something adhering to the lens that can be "Cleaned off". In order for a headlight "cleaner" to do anything to the lens surface it has to be a solvent based chemical strong enough to MELT plastic! The solvents used in those cleaners actually SOFTEN the plastic and can cause worse damage than the original damage.(Don't worry you won't ruin them.) They may be "watered" down so the damage they cause is not too severe however, you fix one problem and create another! At best you'll have slightly better lens covers with wipe marks left by the solvent used to "clean" your headlights.
Headlight lens covers are higher POLISHED acrylic plastic. To achieve that polished look there are only two ways. One involves spraying a clear coat the other one is one of the steps in this kit!
Q. I used a plastic polish or cleaner and it did nothing or the damage came back immediately. How is yours any different? And how long will it last?
A. First of all our product is a repair/restoration process. You will not be covering over the damage or hiding it with some solvent based cleaner or cheap plastic polish. Our kit and process isn't a "lazy man's fix." It is an actual repair process requiring more than some 1 step "snake oil" that takes 5 minutes and comes back almost as fast. You'll be removing the damage permanently! The only way for it to come back is for new damage to occur! Protect the lens with a quality sealer (provided in our kit) once your lenses are restored and the restoration will last many years.
